Lots Accomplished!

This past week was a pretty busy one! As I mentioned in the last post, we had Bible Institute last week and it was on the Doctrine of Salvation. It was a really good class! It really made you more thankful for what God has done for us and what he will do! We truly have a wonderful and amazing God!

During the busy week, a friend was painting her room in a house they are going to be moving into this week. So, I offered to help and we went down and did that on Thursday night! We had lots of fun, its amazing how you can turn something like painting into a fun thing to do with a friend. It also helps when you have lots of paint fumes, coffee, and doughnuts! lol All the necessities of painting....well I guess the paint helps too! ;o)

Plus, it gave me a chance to get creative and put my name on the wall! Sweet!

On Saturday, I was supposed to go babysit some kids, but in the morning their mom called me and told me that one of them woke up sick. Aww, poor thing! Yet, it gave me a chance to actually have a relaxing weekend...wow...what a novel idea! It was so nice not to have a schedule or anything to stick to! I definitely needed that day, I have been so busy with a lot of things, sometimes you just need a day to relax!

Monday was President's Day, so I had the day off of work. (Oh the joys of working at a school!) Some of us girls went shopping for some things for the Sweetheart's Banquet this coming Saturday. We went to several stores, then Kali, Nicki, and I departed from the rest and went to Costco. I tried to convince them to get one of those huge carts so I can just sit on there while they push me around but they didnt really go for that! Oh well, I survived! We actually had fun, after we got some food and ice cream in our stomaches!

Dad brought out some licorice from his room and we were munching on it. Man oh Man! Twizler licorice is soo good! Hard to stop, but self control, Maggie, self control! haha My only consolation is the fact that they are fat-free! Well, thats something isnt it?!?!

Overview.....

I have been informed by one of my friends that I havnt done a post in a couple days and I need to do one! lol (You know who you are!) So, this post is especially for you! Enjoy!

This past weekend was a good, but busy one! On Friday night after work, I went to babysit a little girl who attends the school I work at. She is usually pretty easy, but for some reason she is getting quite, (how do you say this nicely?) fiesty! Not quite a joy to be around when she is in a rotten mood! Most of the evening went well, but towards bed time she just went hysterical! One of those times where you just try and hurry up and put the child to bed! There was no way I was able to calm her down and after I laid her down to sleep, she cried for a couple of minutes then was out! Praise the Lord! That is not fun...and of course I cant punish her like I would my child, so I just had to try and coupe the best I could. All in all, it worked out!

Then on Saturday, I went out to a friends house to celebrate her moms birthday! (They have a gift shop, holly tree farm, and lots of gardens! I used to work there before I had my current job, so we have definitely gotten closer over the years!) We had a fun time of fellowship and eating delicious cake that another one of my friends made!  Then later, Nicki and I went to Mt. V to get some things for the Sweethearts Banquet and of course we had to do a little shopping while we were there! I found some great undershirts that go up quite high, such a blessing to find things that are modest! We had a great time together and enjoyed spending some "one on one" time, we dont get too much of that anymore!
Our church had a guest preacher come out for the Men's Conference this past weekend. He was able to stay with us on Sunday and it was a blessing! Sunday morning he preached a message about how we are all fools. Yet, who's fool are you? You are either Satan's fool or God's fool. Wow! What a great thing to think about and so true! Thanks for taking the time to stay on sunday, it was a blessing!  Later after church that evening, the ladies of my household went over to a friends house to finish watching the new "Emma" on Pbs! It was so good!! I definitely recommend it to people who like Jane Austin movies!

This week is quite a busy one, so you probably will not hear from me until the later half of the week. Tonight we had Ladies Bible Fellowship, which was really good! Our pastor's wife talked about mercy, something we all need to have and display in our lives. Something, I think, we all need to work on! For the rest of the week, we have Bible Institute every week night except Wednesday of course! The topic is the Doctrine of Salvation, it will be very interesting to learn more about it in depth!

Have a great week everyone!

A Lovely Day!

Last year (2008) for Christmas I got the Anne of Green Gables series from my friend Carolyn. I started reading them and then got distracted by some other books that sounded really good. So, I put them down for a while and read a bunch of other books. Just a a month or two ago, I decided that I need to read all the books in my bookshelf before I read any other books. So, the quest began and the Green Gables series needed to be read! There are 8 books in the series, I had left off on the 3rd book so I started from there and yesterday I finished them!! Hurray! It was a really good series and Im glad I finally read it! Yet, for me, I have a really hard time to read an entire 8 book series! So, at times I was more skimming the pages rather than reading, but there were some really good parts that I really enjoyed! Its one of those classics that I think every girl should read! So, thanks Carolyn! It was fun reading!

Today I didnt have to go to work till 10:30, which it is so nice to sleep in after going to work at 8:30 all the other working days, except thursday and friday! Which, I find that those are the days that I need the sleep the most, so it works out really nicely! Anyways, back onto the original purpose I was telling you this, sorry, I got distracted by a shiny thing. (haha) When I was on my way to work, it was so beautiful out I couldn't stop admiring it! It was so nice and sunny, the mountains were in plain view! Here is a picture of what I was able to see this morning!

Later, when I got off of work, I went to the store to pick up some things for dinner tonight. Tonight was my night to cook! After I got home, I ventured out of my car with the bags and trying to persuade Max to get out of the garage so I could close the door. In my attempt to do that, one of the bags handle broke and sent the bag to the hard, cement floor. Yikes! I had remember that I bought a jar of salsa and I was hoping that it wasnt in that bag. Much to my dismay, I looked in the bag and there it was laying, all mangled and sad looking. I took the jar in the house with the other bags I had in my hand. Went out to clean up the mess, (thankfully it was contained in the bag, so I didnt have a disaster on my hands!) and took the other things from the bag into the house. I think I had a little bit of a blonde moment because I kept the jar of salsa, there was still some left in the jar and I thought that I could still use it tonight. My mom comes in the kitchen and ask what Im doing with it. I tell her that Im using it for dinner and she then precedes to tell me that I cant use it because there might be glass in it! DUH!!! I dont know why I didnt even think about that. Hopefully I dont kill my family one day when I have a house of my own....lol So, now they are all talking about how they would have had glass shards in their stomachs and teasing me about it! Oh well...I guess we all have those stupid moments sometimes! Well, the recipe was really good, even without the glass shards!

Here is the recipe of you would like it! Cheesy Chicken & Salsa Skillet

My favorite Brother!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH!!!

Today is my brothers birthday! (As if you havnt already guessed....lol) My brother and I have always had a fun/testing/annoying/loving/sweet relationship! Testing and annoying because he always used to pester me....lol....he would tackle me to the ground and thump my forehead until it got so annoying. Im not sure if anyone reading has ever had it happen to them, but let me tell you, its a pain! He would always find just the right time to pick on me and make it count!

On the other hand, we have a fun, sweet, and loving relationship, especially since we have gotten older. He is such a good brother and I wouldnt trade him for any other. We are able to talk and  have fun together, I cant think of how many times we have just ended up cracking up at the silliest things, but we think its hilarious! We have shared so many laughs over the years, I think its attributed to the fact that we are both kind of weird and quirky. Plus, he really got excited when I decided to take up hunting! He is always asking me to go out with him....he loves it and I love that he loves it! I got a Cabela's jacket and he was quite impressed with it! Nonetheless, he is a good example and I can truly call him my best, favorite, guy friend! So, this is for you Josh! I love you lots and even though we are moving this year, and you are staying behind, we will always be good friends! It will be soo hard, but God will help us and comfort us all this year.....so here are a few pictures of him!

For his birthday I got him some glasses, the ones you see in the picture, for his apartment! He wants to get settled in an apartment before we leave...so hopefully that all works out!

The Past Week

Lets see...whats been going on with me?! This past week we had a SPG (Singles Pleasing God) get together. That is always a good time of fellowship! This time, my good friend Nicki, talked to the group about financial matters and how we can prepare for the future, as well as trying to be in a great financial status now. It was really good and she brought out some great points! So, this year I am going to really try to save money.....Im not in a bad position financially right now. Yet, I think it would be nice to be even better! I am blessed not to have a car loan and things like that. Even for the future, I would want to take money into a marriage and not give my husband $5 and be like...ok honey, thats all I have. I want to be frugile and really get busy in trying to save! So, thats more of a "resolution" if you want to call it that, that I have this year. (Pray I can stick with it!)  Another reason for the SPG gathering was to discuss the Sweetheart's Banquet that we are planning. Although, I cant share anything about it quite yet, I will tell you that its going to be really cool and I will post about it when it is finished!! I am excited to be a blessing to the married couples of the church, once again this year!

So, some of you may know, but when I turned 13 years old I had got a ring from my parents for my birthday. I have always loved that ring, not just because what it looks like, but more what it symbolizes. A love and friendship between my parents, something that I truly cherish and am blessed with! Yet, when I had got it, it was too big. Bummer, but I just decided to wear the ring on my middle finger (the fatter one..haha) and it wouldnt be so big. Yet, about 3 years later I transferred it to my finger (next to the pinky....ok....pinky just looks like a weird word....lol....pinky...) and it was much bigger on that finger but I liked it better, so it just stayed there. For the past few years, I have lost that ring several times, attributing to the fact that it was so big. Thankfully, it was always found again, Praise the Lord! Lately, I've been thinking that maybe I should just break down and get it sized down. So, today I went into the jewelers and gave it to them to size down. When we were figuring what size I would need, we figured out that I needed a whole 1 1/2 sizes down from the original size! Good grief! Thats why I kept losing it! LOL So right now that finger is feeling pretty naked without it, a whole week without it! I keep feeling that finger and expect it to be there and realize that its not! Yet, I am glad I finally did it and I am excited not to have to worry about it getting lost anymore....Hurray!

Anyways, so thats whats new with me.....besides the normal church, work, things like that! I hope you all have had a great week and have a fantastic week ahead!
