So long August.....Hello September!

On Monday, we went out to a lake and had some fun with the Majors girls! Since Kali already posted about the trip here, (ah, the joys of having someone in your family with a blog also) I won't go too much into it. We had lots of fun and it was really nice to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors!

Squeezing together!

It was pretty cold and even started to thunder a little, but we were not going to let that dampen our spirits! We went out in the canoe and we were enjoying floating (and trying to steer ourselves) then it started raining! haha Oh well, it was fun and I'm glad we were able to get out and have some fun!

Tonight I made some soup and french bread for dinner. The bread was so good! It was crunchy and golden on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside....mmmmm good!

The weather today has been pretty dreary and cold. The sky was clouded over and staying pretty chilly, so I guess fall is coming! Ahh.....fall makes me thinking of all the beautifully orange colored trees, pumpkin flavored things, and starting to break out those scarfs and sweaters! I'm ready to move onto the next season!

Surprise Surprise!!

This weekend was a great and busy weekend! It started out with the Highway 20 camp out, which went excellent! We received many different people to contact through that and hopefully we will see some souls saved as a result! We had 3 first time visitors on Sunday which was a blessing, as well as some people from our home church visiting!

Many of our close friends were not able to make it to the camp out though, because of work. Which was disappointing but we had lots of fun with with our other friends and church family! Kali and I were talking on Saturday how we missed our friends and really felt like we needed some face-to-face time with them. So, on Sunday after church we ventured out to go back to our beautiful island! It was quite the last minute trip and we loved every minute of it! One of those times that its hard to wipe the smile off your face, as we reached closer and closer to our island. Kali and I were SO happy to be going and surprising everyone and discussed what we would do and how we would plan out our surprise! We got to our island and sat at the beach waiting for the right moment to arrive at church to surprise everyone. Man, I forgot how beautiful the ocean is! It was a WONDERFUL sight to behold, living in a dry, brown-like environment right now. I loved every little gust of wind and the sound of the waves.....

It started to rain on our way over! Call me crazy but *I heart rain*

So excited, waiting on the beach! (That was the best excited face I could come up with, rather than a deer caught in headlights look.....hehe)

The plan went over wonderfully and everyone was SO surprised to see us! We were successful in surprising all our close friends. The youth group (my close friend Linnea involved in that) went to Mexico a few weeks ago and we were privileged to get to watch the presentation about how it went! I am so happy and encouraged to see how the youth group is growing in leaps and bounds in the Lord! It's truly amazing to see how the Lord works!

We stayed at the Howers Sunday and Monday night (which they were "informed" that we were spending the night on Sunday, which they were completely pleased with! hehe) and enjoyed all the time we were able to spend with the Hower family. (especially Alyssa!) We made dessert for Mr. Hower, which he was VERY pleased with! Alyssa has Mondays off so we were able to spend the day with her on Monday. A picnic at the beach, playing on the playground and a good game of Sorry Card Revenge was the order of the day. It was a wonderful time and we came back feeling refreshed and loved every moment we were able to spend with our friends and 2nd family! ;o)

Feeling a little chilly compared to our 90 degree + weather!

Alyssa spying on me swinging :o)

OBITUARY NOTICE: After many, many successful games winning Sorry Card Revenge, the undefeated team (Deborah and I) finally gave up the winning streak on August 23, 2010. It was a sad occasion and many tears were shed. Although some very rude people (not to name them but one starts with A and ends with lyssa and the other starts with K and ends with ali....) were screaming and rejoicing at this event. Although I do not agree with their actions, they will suffer repercussions on the next event we play.

Who ever said I was competitive?!

Busyness Abounding

Have you ever had one of those days where you wake up and have no idea that the day will be so busy?! Well, today was one of those days for me! It started out pretty slow then in the afternoon it really picked up.

My day as follows:

1:30 p.m.- Took Kali to the doctor (don't worry, nothing serious, just a viral infection that should pass in a few days.....)

2:30 p.m.- STILL at the doctors office.....trying to wait patiently in the room

3:30 p.m.- FINALLY leaving the doctors office, yup you counted it, 2 HOURS! For a viral infection, plus we went to urgent care, URGENT CARE PEOPLE! If she was really urgent she would have been dead by the time they were able to get to her.....anyways.....

3:45 p.m.- Shopping at the grocery store for things for dinner and so forth....

4:45 p.m.- Leaving the grocery store and trying to bear the 100 degree heat outside......

5:00 p.m.- Arrived at the Majors house to practice a song for Sunday with Chris

5:30 p.m.- Came home from practicing and got dinner going (Made Dad and Mom's Anniversary dinner one day early because there is a busy day tomorrow....consisting of the Highway 20 outreach!)

6:45 p.m.- Sitting down to eat dinner

7:00 p.m.- Starting to make dessert and cleaning up the disaster of the kitchen

8:30 p.m.- Finally finished making dessert and cleaning the kitchen.......WHEW! feet aching.....

So, today was one of those days where you feel like you have a million things to do and not enough hours to do it. In the end, everything got done, dinner and dessert was a delicious success (Parmesan Herb Crusted Flounder, Home-made Mac' n Cheese, Green Beans, and 3 Layer Lemon Pie for dessert....Mmmmmm)!

Tomorrow we are getting ready for the Highway 20 campout and get our house all spruced up for visitors!! So excited to see everyone! Plus, I am making about 100 or more cookies in the morning for a treat for the people going on outreach Friday, on the menu: Snickernoodles and Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies! YUM! I'm making some extra Oatmeal Chocolate Chips for Josh, they are his favorite! We get to see Josh this weekend!

I didn't intend for this post to be so long but I guess there was too much to say! The excitement of this post is that my Dad and Mom are celebrating 26 years of marriage tomorrow! Praise the Lord! I love them both SO much and I pray that God will continue to bless their marriage. I know that everyone says this but "my parents are the best ever!" Love you both lots!

Signing off for the weekend.......

Rodeo & A Short Visit

This weekend our friend Nicki came out for a short visit! She got here on Saturday evening then we went straight to the Rodeo! That was SOOOO much fun! I had never been to one before and wasn't sure what to expect. From the calf ropin', bull ridin', horse racin', bronco ridin', it was lots of fun! We all had so much fun, despite the *hot* weather. I don't think I have ever seen as many cowboys as I did on Saturday! After (and during) all the events I discovered that I wouldn't be totally heart broken if God brought me a Cowboy for a husband. *dreaming* hehe

~Funny Side Stories~ When we were walking to the Rodeo Stadium there were of course, lots of cowboys! At one point Kali was like "Oh, there is a cowboy for you Maggie!" Then I told her, "Yeah, except for the fact that he has a cigarette stickin' out of his mouth." At that point Kali, Mom, and Selena looked over and were like, "Oh...." Then I decided to give a second look to make sure, much to my enjoyment I discovered it was not a cigarette, it was a push up popsicle!! lol We got some good laughs out of that!

After the show Lilly most excitedly exclaimed to Chris, "I want to marry a Cowboy!!" Chris then replied, "Well he is going to have to come and talk to me first!" Lilly, "PLEEEEAAASSSEE!!" LOL She insists on marrying a cowboy I guess, well we are in the right place for it!

                                                                       Opening Ceremony

Yup, she was steering all four of those horses BY HERSELF! You probably won't believe me but they even did a jump later!

Visiting at Church

Kali wasn't feeling very good so I played the piano on Sunday....practice, practice practice

Nicki brought these for me when she came, 2 Costco size bags!! *love these things*

Sunday after church we went to the Majors and played "Chicken Foot", so fun! Nicki was planning on leaving Sunday evening but she contracted a bad cold while she was here and was feeling miserable! (We are thinking its because of our dry climate and lots of dust over here, which she is not used to living on the green, plush, island!) Poor thing! There was no way she was able to drive 4 hours back home in that condition so she stayed the night once more and left this afternoon. We had fun visiting and spending time with Nicki, hopefully we will see you again on Labor Day weekend!

Well that concludes the weekend events, hope ya'll had a great weekend as well! All I can say now is YEE HAW!
